The Countdown has begun
It is less than a week until NaNoWriMo 2010 begins. Simon and I have participated, and won, two years in a row. This will be our 3rd consecutive year. I haven't read my past stories. I suppose I will one day (I'm afraid to discover how crappy a writer I really am). In retrospect I think my first was my best so far. Last year I tried a sort of sci-fi kind of novel. Unfortunately I don't read that genre and I'm not overly familiar with its style and content. This year will be sci-fi-esque too since its premise is something right out of Twilight Zone. I just hope I can finish. Right now I'm not as pumped about it as I usually am. Maybe I need a few hours rest. Home schooling and entertaining a 3 year old really takes its toll on you. :)

Thanksgiving
Just wanted to wish everyone a happy turkey day. We celebrated early, in fact twice: Saturday and yesterday. It's a gorgeous Fall day today. Hopefully we'll get outside and enjoy.

The title
I suppose you may be wondering about the header on my blog. I'll explain. The ERA (Equal Rights Amendment or Equal Rights Association for those who don't know the meaning) was a movement started in the USA as early as 1866. The basic premise is equal rights, pay, etc. for women. I chose to make that comment because, despite the years of fighting for our equality and the Feminist Movement of the 1960s and 1970s to free us from domesticity, I chose to be a stay-at-home mum/homemaker. I find myself doing "traditional" activities like making bread and preserves, crocheting and sewing even though I have a university degree and work experience. I could be regarded as a traitor to my gender, by those Feminists, because of these subversive activities. :)

First Post
I am in the process of setting up my blog here at Blogger. In the future I am hoping to update and blog with MacJournal (when I buy it) via my iPad. Keep tuned in for further updates and improvements.
